SFA Runway. Never disappointing in the RUNWAY arena, the SFA Runway is a high energy showcase of Saskatchewan made designer wares and curated outfits via local boutiques.

We respectfully acknowledge that we are  a guest on Treaty 6 Territory and this Homeland of First Nations and The Métis. We respect the land and we commit our work to building good relations and mutually beneficial partnerships with the land and its traditional keepers.

What did the evening entail? Guests enjoyed cocktails with music by Pete Wright during reception hour.

Enter the Runway area, guests were wow'd by Pro Plus Production and Mane Productions who produced the show along with tunes by international DJ The Gaff, creative visuals by local Saskatchewan artists and dance performances by Dance Ink Studio and Tatum Wildeman. All while taking in Western Canadian Fashion! With an eclectic mix of spectators, the show highlights Saskatchewan's home grown talent and the latest looks from the province's favourite boutiques. The crowd was treated to interpretive and interesting takes on textiles, social issues, fantasy and function in clothing form.

Meet our Designers, Printmakers, and Boutiques below!

The fashion you see here are made from local Saskatchewan designers, printmakers, and boutiques. We are so excited to showcase them all! , you will see 15 collections hit the runway, as well as performances that showcased throughout the evening.

Saskatchewan Fashion Association Inc. supports Black, Indigenous, and all People of Colour as they struggle to be heard, valued, and respected. SFA vows to continue to use its platform to elevate queer, trans and non-binary BIPOC voices. We are constantly evaluating our events, activities and engagement to this end and welcome community input and feedback with respect to our programming.

SFA is committed to safer spaces online and in person and what that means for us is that we are committed to being accessible to all folks.

Saskatchewan Fashion Association is proud to provide a high end platform for portfolio building, hands on training, public exposure and creative expression, as you will see here this weekend. Furthering experience in all areas of the fashion industry from models, designers, production, visual arts and photography. SFA is the ONLY organization that provides this platform in Saskatchewan. After 12 years of events produced by Saskatoon Fashion and Design Festival and Saskatchewan Fashion Week, we have Saskatchewan entrepreneurs now participating in worldwide events such as New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and many more due to the expansion and experience showcased in their portfolios that otherwise would not have allowed for opportunity.  We are proud to continue to grow the Saskatchewan Fashion Sector year round with Saskatchewan Fashion Association.

SFW garners an average audience of 5000 visitors online and upwards during the year, presenting mentorship opportunities, member networking, workshops both online and in person, global trades exchange opportunities, and a hub for the fashion sector to come together to create community.

The majority of SFW's year round events are free to the public, creating an accessible event that appeals to wide, yet style-conscious demographic.

Tala Tootoosis the Designer for Kâmâmaka Awayinsa Designs in collaboration with her sister Misty Rain Naytowhow, designer of Misty Rain Designs are bringing a show of indigenous history in fashion to the stage. They are showing the chronological order of ribbon skirts from the 1900s as best as they can with the work they have as an educational and artistic statement. They showcased dresses from the 1900s, to todays urban wear. Both artists have been designing for years on the side and enjoy doing so, as you will see all the spirit and love in their work. They are both giving a lot of energy, creativity and elegance to the term ribbon skirt, ribbon dress and the new urban style of ribbon and appliqué work on dresses meant not just for ceremony but also social events such as graduations and galas. The appliqué ribbon skirts tell of tribal clans they belong too, stories of picking medicines, stories of prophecy, stories of preservation and education. They both hope to encourage the awareness that indigenous people have evolved in style and fashion, always trendsetters, throughout the years and hope to give a glimpse of that with their lineup here at Sask Fashion week. They were accompanied by their mother who is a knowledge keeper, social worker, and therapist to share her song alongside her other daughter Lily Naytowhow who is an archeologist. Bringing the vision together on stage as they open the show with elegance, spirit and culture.

Chelsea Nokusis owner of Chelsea’s Cree-ations 34 years old from Peepeekisis First Nation who also has 4 children. Couldn’t have done it all without the support of family. The passion for sewing has led me down this path of indigenous fashion. She wanted to put an indigenous flare to each piece that is created to make the person wearing it feel empowered and proud of where they come from. I wanted to show culture even if it’s in a form of fashion.
