Have you ever been watching an episode of Gossip Girl or 90210 and catch yourself thinking how amazing it would be to get dressed up in your most fashionable outfit and live a day/night like Blair or Naiomie?! Well, ladies & gents, Saskatoon Fashion & Design Festival not only puts on one of the most incredible Fashion Shows but also, has a marketplace that will have you feeling like you are at a uptown NYC mixer (most likely in a high rise with a balcony, overlooking the entire city ;) ). Ok, I may be getting a bit carried away but really, that’s what it kinda feels like!
Entering the marketplace, you will be immersed in an atmosphere filled with a unique and undeniable energy. There is the perfect mix of #local entrepreneurship, designers and artists that have set up to sell some of their most sought after, unique pieces. If you liked what you saw on the runway, the marketplace is the place to buy it straight off the rack (because let’s face it, you do HAVE to have it, it does goes with your outfit and yes, quick bathroom changes are 100% acceptable and even encouraged at fashion shows)!
In the evening, along with the vendors, there is a chance for all the guests, models, makeup artists, photographers and local fashion lovers to mingle, grab a cocktail and get a few photos taken!
So, who’s all going to be at this marketplace might you ask? Well, this year is one of our biggest lineups yet, totaling 15 AH-mazing vendors. Drumroll please... Authentic Brave Apparel, Eleven03 Apparel, Cedar and Vine, Goldie's General Store, Missie & Tife Bridal, Accessories, Avon Canada, Ashnita Mejahbeen, Beyond the Looking Glass Gems, Silver Icing Clothing, Wear our Heritage, Howling Wolf Jewelry, Metanoia Malas & Natalia K Fashion Design!
To give you a taste of what you are in for at the marketplace, see below for a few vendors who I cannot wait see. Not only do these vendors sell quality, original pieces, their history and strong brand values have me feeling honoured to have them at the 2017 festival!
SILVER ICING
Silver Icing sells a broad range of clothing, shoes and accessories that cater to all online shopping fashionistas. They also have taken a new spin on the ordinary e-comm experience

Cedar and Vine
If you haven't had a chance to check our Cedar and Vine in Saskatoon yet you are in for a treat. Each of their products are locally handmade in Saskatoon.Sk and have,

Every piece from Cedar and Vine is made from scratch so you know you will always be getting a unique, one of a kind piece!
We are so grateful to have a remarkable lineup of vendors this year and by being a part of the SFDF they not only contribute to the growth of the Saskatchewan Fashion Industry ( yes, NYC fashion week we may one day give you a run for your money ;)) they also give the Saskatchewan shoppers a chance to shop one of a kind, brilliant pieces while continuing to support local.
The marketplace will run Saturday, August 26th & Sunday, August 27th Delta Bessborough Hotel (map), Convention Level from 12PM to 4PM & 6PM to 10:30PM. *Debit and credit are accepted by many retailers but there's an ATM on site.
