Saskatoon Fashion and Design Festival is a volunteer run organization promoting and showcasing emerging and established fashion designers and locally owned boutiques.

Annually, SFDF organizes fashion events to celebrate and highlight the diverse and vibrant fashion community in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. SFDF has presented trend and style workshops, high-end fashion shows, pop-up shops, industry mixers and large outdoor fashion events. The majority of SFDF’s programming is free to the public, creating accessible events that appeal to a wide, yet style conscious demographic.

We are passionate about Saskatchewan fashion design, buying local, and building a sustainable fashion community. The support of our sponsors, suppliers, and contributors makes our events a reality.

MISSION STATEMENT

Saskatoon Fashion & Design Festival is committed to presenting the style, innovation, and design culture of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan in order to develop and elevate our fashion community.

VISION

We strive to continually pursue the development of business and commerce for a sustainable fashion industry in Saskatchewan by facilitating educational, marketplace, and fashion presentation opportunities.

SFDF'S CO-FOUNDERS AND DIRECTORS

Mandy Pravda, Director/Co-founder

Mandy Pravda's expertise falls within all things events, promotions, and logistics. From her background in event, festival, and facility management she understands the multitude of minute details that go into any event whether it’s producing a gala or a multi-day festival.

Recently recognized in Toronto’s national Meeting + Incentive Travel Magazine in The Hall of Fame issue as the 20-something Entrepreneur for her contribution and experience to her industry, Mandy continues to volunteer and support the fashion community and thrives on raising the bar and creating memorable experiences for everyone involved. Her love for fashion and events lead her to be the entrepreneur she is today.

Recently, her event company, Mane Productions, has partnered with On Purpose Leadership. Through this strategic partnership, Mandy is merging her world of events and festivals (i.e. Parking Day, Light the Night Walk, and Free Flow Thursdays) with On Purpose’s portfolio of events (i.e. PotashCorp Fireworks Festival, Saskatchewan Marathon, Saskatchewan Country Music Awards, and PotashCorp Winter Shines Festival). Through this alliance Mandy works with almost every major public event in Saskatoon. Her leadership, decisiveness, and razor sharp instincts make her a valuable person to have on any team.

Jacqueline Conway, Director/Co-founder

Jacqueline Conway specializes in arts marketing focusing on large festivals, events and campaigns. Her key skills include: brand management, publicity and media planning, project management, social media marketing, and online/print marketing. Her knowledge and experience span the fashion and music industries with a big picture focus from strategy to final product. She holds her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan, specializing in Marketing. She also studied fashion design at LaSalle College in Montreal.

Presently, she walks the halls of the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival as the Marketing Director. In that position she manages the Festival's marketing campaign garnering an average audience of 85,000 attendees. Major projects within her position was the re-design of the Festival website, which integrates the Festival app with the website, and launching the Sask Jazz Online Shop. Highlights from past Festival's was planning a Tegan and Sara Meet and Greet and coordinating Ms. Lauryn Hill's record-breaking 4 hour sell out in 2014. She is also an award-winning dance instructor and choreographer for Studio One in Saskatoon.

A special accolade she received was Saskatoon's IT Girl in FASHION magazine for spearheading SFDF and organizing pop-up shops for local designers. Her continued involvement with Saskatoon Fashion and Design Festival (SFDF) is a labour of love to see the local and sustainable fashion community grow, thrive and evolve. TRNDBLZR.com
